Barbara's Story

After graduating from St. Pat's I attended Marquette University in Milwaukee and graduated from there in 1964 with a B.S in Business Administration. I married Jim Rozanski in 1964 and we had one son, Kenneth who was born in 1966. I was a stay-at-home mom and did volunteer work for a number of years. In 1980 Jim died of a heart attack. At the time I was working at the Prospect Heights Public Library District. I decided I needed to upgrade my education so I went back to school at Rosary College (now Dominican University) and received joint degrees of an M.B.A. and a M.A.L.S in 1983. I continued to work at the library while I was going to school. I graduated in 1983. Shortly after that I became the Director of the Prospect Heights Library. I remained there for the next 22 years and retired in 2000. In the meantime I married Gene Chami...Expand for more
des in 1997. Unfortunately, he suffered a series of strokes and passed away in 1999. Feeling a need for a change in location, after I retired I moved to Hendersonville, North Carolina where I live today. I enjoy this area between the Blue Ridge and Smoky Mountains very much. I've been doing some watercolor painting and volunteer work. After moving to North Carolina I met Wendell Holland. We married in 2006. Wendell is a former teacher and database consultant. He is also a writer and a wood turner. We've traveled together to Costa Rica, and have made several trips to Europe including Germany, Czech Republic, Austria, Switzerland, Italy and Spain. We enjoy visiting Wendell's two daughters who live in other parts of NC and seeing his grandchildren, a boy of 12 and twins of 7. We also get together with my son Ken who lives in Chicago.
