Barbara's Story
Life
Hi all. Well since graduation I attended The College of DuPage and The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where I received a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree. I volunteer there 1 day a week in the Modern Wing at the Ryan Education Center. I love that place and the CHI.
I was laid off in Feb. of 09'. but I have a part time job with Sears Holdings Corporation. I currenly am back a College of DuPage where I am studying Graphic Arts Technology too.
I am almost an empty nester. I have 4 children ages 29, 27, 19 & 17.(-_-) My two oldest Daughters live in Texas and my son in Ill burbs. 3 down 1 to go.
School
My biggest crush was a boyfriend from Michigan who drove a 1970's Red Mustang convertible. I generally hate the color red but this was definitely the exception.

College
I commuted to The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. I loved riding on the train and walking to school everyday. The winters were a little rough but I can't say I really remember that. Just the good stuff. My college connections weren't all that good. Classes were good though. Chinese Art History, Egyptian Art History, lots of Ceramics (my major) Etching with a really wacked teacher who I swear was sniffing the benzine. Great works of Art right at my finger tips. Who could ask for more?
Workplace
I'm currently going back to school so although being laid off has been extremely difficult, I really appreciate the fact that I can go back to school mostly via Uncle Sam. Never a dull moment. It's never been an easy life but I'm happy with who I am and what I'm about so who knows what will happen. My main concern is keeping a roof over our heads. So far so good.
