Barbara's Story

Back in high school..... it's still a good place. I'm now retired from teaching US History and Advanced Placement Human Geography at Buena High School in Sierra Vista and education classes at Cochise College. I've been married almost 54 years, spent 20 of that travelling the world with my husband Don, during his active duty career as an Army officer. He is now retired after working as a systems engineer at Ft. Huachuca. We have two married sons, a granddaughter and a grandson. There is also a dog, and lots to keep us busy. o in what may have been a misguided moment, I ran for the Sierra Vista school board served one term before retiring from that. It is far more work than anyone realizes!. We are adjusting to retirement, have been traveling as much as possible, are renovating our home in Sierra Vista, and often visit Phoenix to see our eldest son and his family. I do a lot of church and community work which means I have trouble saying no!I have very fond memories of my years at South Mountain and drive by now and then when we're in Phoenix, which happens often.

So funny. We've had a gecko living in the house for about three weeks.  He came uninvited and we haven't been able to catch him.  It didn't bother me a lot, but he moved into our bedroom maybe a week ago and I was scared of
Sometimes the comic strips get it right.... and maybe if we all try to do some communicating, it will start to get better.
