Barbara's Story

Life After completing high school I attended Worcester State College for 2 years. I then transfered to Northeastern University. I graduated with a BS in Biology in September of 1993. Since completing my Bachelor's degree I have taken classes at Framingham State College and Boston University. Because of my unexpected (but welcome) pregnancy I have no desire to complete my Master's degree at Boston University. I spent most of my career working as a chemist for companies such as Welch Foods (think grape juice) and Eastman Gelatine (think film). I have also worked for a biotech firm and an environmental chemistry testing facility. Kind of a detour ...Expand for more
for someone who wanted to work in zoology. I married David Miller of Oneida New York in September of 2000. We spent 3 weeks honeymooning in Europe. I gave birth to Kiersten in April 2003. I have not worked since April of 2002. I believe that pregnancy and chemistry are not a good mix. In November of 2007 I had my second daughter Jordan Ann. As a family we travel extensively with Scandinavia being a favorite vacation destination. We also enjoy cruising and have to date sailed 4 times. At least once a year we head to the in-laws in North Carolina. I am currently a stay at home mom. My husband is an electrical engineer designing computer chips.
