Barbara's Story
I always wanted to be a away from home when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a great idea. As it turns out, they were right.
My favorite way to relax...hang out with my friends or enjoy the peace and quiet of home...resting in my favorite chair, watching my favorite TV shows
If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have patience, with-it ness, and stamina to be able to deal with the day-to-day. We have to remember, I teach elementary ed.
Inspiration? Comes from all walks of life. I am always inspired by those who are less fortunate than I am, but manage to 'keep on trying' even when the road ahead get bumpy.
The last 25 years or so, I have lived in Florida. Before moving here, I was born and raised in Tennessee. After dropping out of school in the 9th grade and getting married...we later had three children. Things did not work- divorce happened- life got harder - but still it took me many years before getting up the nerve to continue my education. AT this point my boys were in their teens and chose to live with their dad in Tennessee. I let them...I stayed in florida, they went to their dad.

tinue my Ed. (FYI I worked part time, and graduated with a 3.8GPA - I was very proud, especially since I had never seen the inside of a highschool) and the rest is history. I met my husband while i was in college. We dated for 10 years before getting married and we will be celebrating our 11 yr wedding aniversary this summer.
After graduating, I landed a job at a local elementary school, where I have been for the last 15 years. I love the people I work with and all the friends I have made through the years. Many of my ex students are now grown and it is cool to see what they are doing with their lives.
My only regret in remaining in Florida, is not being able to see my 5 grandchildren on a regular basis. I think if I had everything to do over, I would have moved back to TN and started my career there. Even after all these years, I still miss my family.
Due to health problems, I hope to retire or get disability in the next few years, then I would like to go back home for a bit....to see if I really want to live there.
Anyway, live is good. Friends and family are the most important part of life.....but money makes life easier.
