Barbara's Story
Life
You can find more about me now at Facebook.
I'll have to think about this one.
I married in 70 and then moved to Redwood City, Calif. where I raised my 3 children after divorce.
There I worked at Raychem Corp.
In the mid 80's we moved back to S. Calif. where my kids finished school. There I drove the special needs school bus for 11 yrs. p/t and had an antique/resale business providing vintage items to movie industry, collectors, decorators etc... Did shows at Rosebowl,Northridge,Hollywood,PCC,
Brentwood etc...
I also had a mall space at "The Orangetree" in Glendora.
We spent a lot of time at the beach and going to Disneyland with the wonderful year passes.
After my mother passed and the kids were grown I then meditated for a while and moved to Austin, Texas. Steve Treulson helped me load the huge truck and I towed my car over 1,000 miles.
I transferred with Durham Transportation and stayed with them another 3 yrs.
I am now working as Security Supervisor in a Gated Community in Austin near Wild Basin.

live in Jonestown, N. Lake Travis,Tx.(hill country) No street lights, just stars:) I have a pet rabbit named Jigme, Tibetan for "Protector". There are plenty of frogs, fireflies, walking sticks, tarantulas, tarantula hawks, squirrels, Deer, Fox, wild turkeys, snakes and more in my neighborhood.
I'm pretty much up in the woods but 1/2 hr. from Austin. The lake is 500' from the house.
My oldest son Jake and daughter Mara and her two children are also here in Texas, and my youngest son Joe is still in California with my grandson Elijah.
We have some pretty dramatic storms here that I enjoy.
This year, NO Rain.
It is not cool enough here for me but the sky is big and the air is clean and lots of elbow room.
Still hunting vintage items and enjoying the outdoors.
I have been studying Buddhism and embracing Buddhist Views.
We had the opportunity to meet 2 Lamas at an FPMT gathering in Austin, Geshe Tashi Tsering (From London), and Geshe Thubten Soepa.
What next?
Perhaps overseas or the Ozarks.
That's all for now:)
