Barbara's Story
So much has changed since my last update on Classmates. I moved from Colorado to Uath and now am in the Phoenix area - during the summer I call it "the other side of Hell" and during winter I call it "heaven on earth". The Yin/Yang of life, I suppose...! After HS I became a flight instructor, and I moved around and explored many areas of the country. I have lived in the Pacific Northwest (Snohomish, WA), New England (Bangor, ME; Burlington, VT; Nashua, NH), Texas (Corpus Christi) and various places in Wyoming and Utah, and now in AZ. I love living in the mountains, but I miss the Pacific NW and hope to spend some time in Oregon's Willamette Valley, someday.
I married (and divorced) Wyoming home-town boys - twice - and lived in SW WYO for many years. I learned to hunt (blackpowder antelope and shotgun for birds) while there. I have 2 children from my first marriage...Expand for more
, and am currently enjoying having raised my son and daughter to be really wonderful and independent people.
I returned to college 1998-2001, and received a BS in aviation technology. I am not currently flying (the 911 tragedy gave me a different perspective on the industry and put a halt to commercial flying for me). I also received my MS in Org Change Mgt and Project Mgt. I have worked for Jeppesen - aviation charting company - and a couple of small software companies. I am now with American Airlines, by way of US Airways through the merger. I am also involved with a software startup company (heavy technical, IC CAD automation).
My gypsy soul is somewhat restless, and I am always looking for new opportunities. I am able to travel more now, working with an airline. And I am really looking forward to seeing whoever can make it to the 35 year reunion this year!
