Barbara's Story
Life
Yes I still do music and have folks I play music with regularly and sometimes gig. I have the 2 greatest sons in the world, one is also a musician (music in films) and audio engineer! The other is in water management. One beautiful granddaughter and a lifetime of memories and things.... who would have thunk it! Been divorced over 24 years. Didn't mean to stay that way and find that the oddest thing about my life. Life can keep ya pretty busy I guess. Three businesses over the years. College - psychology- and still trying to figure out what I'm going to be besides this guitar playing singer all my life! lol. I think about all you sweet friends back at Marina, the fun we had, sunrises in the morning by the bay, senior sock and silence day, crashing that old car to bits with the sledgehammer at our annual Bash. The dances, the girls night slumber parties (where are you Sue S. and Bonnie R.?), watching "Psycho" with Michael A. and Lynda (you out there?) when we were 16 and scared (how movies have changed since then), Mr. Mahoney's greatest ever art class (heh Mahoney where you be?), lunch on the green, the greatest senior picnic ever in Castro Valley and climbing the hills, school plays, growing up 60's, later for me political marches, lots of music at the Fillmore, rowing boats and swimming at Crow Canyon, 14th Avenue ride nights and Prings (Bonnie H. RIP sweetie), the best friends in the world (heh, Michael A.(greatest guy fri...Expand for more
end and neighbor ever!), Harold P., Carl P., Nancy, Greg, Maggie (Maggs), Bill, Lynda, Bonnie, Sue, Michael D., Charley., please if I forgot anyone its only a temporary moment!, etc.) and memoires that have lasted a lifetime. If anyone wants to say "hi" (email) most welcomed.
School
High school and the 2 years after were so great because of friends. A sweet, delightful time of discovery and confusion. Feeling perfect and lost. And who could regret growing up in the 60's? The amazing music, the wonderful sense of being able to create change in the world, sensivity training, the great music at the Fillmore, the gathering times at "Friendship House," first wonders and stings of love, being in school plays and singing... going to the Donovan concert at the Oakland collisium... and so many other's after that. Early morning sunrises with friends. The garage band and being so damn serious in my heart.
Since the classmate sight asked...
Well first love... Mike D.
Long term greatest, dearest school friend who I still think of.. Mike Armijo my neighbor and friend always in my memory.
Teacher Crush and Mentor.. Larry Mahony of course!
And yes, I still remember Linda S., Kris, Gene, Bill, Lyinda, Nancy, Sue, Bonnie H, Bonnie R, Grady, Charlie, Choir, Mrs. Frey, Mollie, Bill, Miss Bliss, Harold P so many... always, great sweet forever memories. Abundant Blessings to you all!
