Barbara Cole:  

In 1st grade I attended Promise School (a one-room school house) in Promise, Oregon. I attended Wallowa Elementary School (Wallowa, Oregon) from 2nd thru 4th grades. My best friend was Cheryl Peterson. My family moved to Christian Valley, CA and I attended Placer Hills School in Meadow Vista 5th thru 8th grades. My best friends at Placer were Christyne Schaller and Linda Strawser. Chris and I remained friends for many years after high school. She was my maid of honor and I was her matron of honor. My daughter's middle name is Christyne. I married fellow classmate Wayne Hubbard in August of 1967 and we moved to Pacifica, CA. Wayne attended San Francisco State College and I worked there. Our oldest son Andy was born in 1970, our second son Tony in 1972 and our daughter Vanessa in 1975. In 1976 Wayne, who had been working for Bank of America, was transferred to Panama City, Republic of Panama. I stayed for a year and a half. I moved back to the Auburn area and we divorced in 1978. I met a wonderful man while I was working at Auburn Faith Hospital and we married in 1982. We had a son, Travis, in 1983. We celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary in 2007. I have worked as a secretary all my adult life. First at McClellan Air Force Base in Sacramento. Then at San Francisco State College, Bank of America in Sacramento, Auburn Faith Hospital, Roseville Hospital, Auburn Faith again and then the Placer County Office of Education for 16 years.
