Barbara's Story

Life My Spouse In Killeen thru a friend. I had been praying to meet someone but had gotten to a point where I just gave up on seeking and decided to get serious about my education and career plans. Lo and behold, I met Don and had to make a decision. And the rest is history...2 1/2 kids later. We have a little surprise born 2 years ago when we thought we were thru. My Pets Well, I'm not always happy about them. My husband is the animal lover, and so is my daughter. I'd like to be without them for awhile. My husband, Don believes they should live in the house with us and not forgotten outside somewhere. Sometimes, I'm ready to move out. My daughter has always wanted to be a vet, so I've helped her out to get her ready to be one. We've had several litters of kittens and l litter of pups. We've had tadpoles, fish, cats, dogs and l bird. My bird died when we first got married and I was pregnant with my daughter. I was devastated. We have 2 fish now and 3 dogs (1 for hunting- an old bird dog). 1 has a skin problem (of all things). I'm like my mom, I've got enough to handle with the kids I've got plus my other big kid (the husband). I think my husband has a strong need to have living things around, though, I just wish they were PLANTS!!! My Kids We love our kids. The Good LOrd has blessed us with 2 very special kids plus one little tyke who we're just getting used to. Our daughter, the oldest is almost finished with high school and is an aspiring artist. I've encouraged her ever since she was little and, of course, supplied her with lots of paper and colors (to keep her busy). She loves to ...Expand for more
draw and loves animals, and, of course, when she was little would draw animal people. She's a real blessing to me - keeps me in line physically, mentally and spiritually. Both of my older children are homeschooled and are very strong Christians. The homeschooling helped. I wanted to homeschool when she was young, and was finally able to do it. The Lord directed us to a church in Delaware where almost everyone did it. So, I have alot of support. My daughter was in public school up till 4th grade, and it wasn't good. My son was in till 2nd grade, and he had problems, too. My 1st son is in 10th grade, and is doing very well. He loves computers and had started his own website for Christian kids to play games at and witness thru. Both kids are very active in their church youth group. My daughter is one of the leaders of the group. She's learning to play saxophone to be in the church band. My 1st son has an electric guitar but needs time or motivation to learn it. Our 2nd son is almost 3 and is full of blonde curls, big for his age(takes after dad), and is honory. It had been 12 years since I had my 1st son, so it was quite a shock when we found out I was pregnant again. My mechanisms hadn't been working right for quite awhile, so I thought I was starting to go thru menopause. Ha! I was sick for about 1 month, and finally went to the Dr. When she said positive, it went over my head (my husband's, too). We have felt like a cross between a parent and a grandparent. It's been fun (especially the conceiving part), but we have found out how much we need to get back in shape to keep up with him.
