Barrett's Story
Linda and I were married in Amsterdam at the Baptist Church in April 1963. We met on a blind date while I was in the Air Force at Richards Gerbaur. I am from Pa. We moved to the country outside of Amsterdam after I retired from work. We lived North of the River for over 30 years. Linda went to school at Miami R1. We like living in the country. Our kids come to see us often.
I met Barry on a blind date. I met him in Feb was engaged in March and married in April of 1963. I had left home to go to college in KC, Mo. After Barry's release from the Air Force we moved to Pa. where our oldest daughter was born in Oct.64. Moved back to KC. ...Expand for more
Had 2 sons born in 66 and 69. Work for TG&Y co for 11 years while raising family. Barry worked for Cook Paint Co. for 34 yrs. In 1980 we had a big surprise our youngest daughter was born. She really kept us young. I worked 22yrs for Burlington Coat Factory and worked at Fabri-quilt for 13yrs at the same time. Retired Sept. 2008 and live back in the country outside of Amsterdam. We have Several grandchildren and Greatgrandchildren. We enjoy going to oldie rock concerts, going to Branson with the kids and going back East to Pa to visit Barry's families there. I belong to DAR and enjoy my flowers and other outside activities. Life is good.
