Barry's Story
Came from Bremerton, Washington to play on Ventura's JC baseball team in 1976. Wanted to go pro of course. It wasn't in the cards. Lookin' back when I was pitching, I could hit those bats almost every time.
Thinking of Dawn Johnson on how and where she is. Thinking of the whole ball team experience. It was a great time for me, with lots of memories.
I can't remember all of the names but: Catcher Steve Hood, 2nd base Jeff Michaels, short stop Sammy Garza, 1st base John Graig, 3rd base Tom Bunker, The girl I was after, Dawn Johnson, other players Tom Raschke, Steve Baso, Pitcher Vince Miller, Tommy Barber, Harvey, Jerry Vanderbilt (worked at movie theater); It took me 64 days to get the popcorn out of my carpet. Pete McEntire - pitcher
Think of Dawn Johnson a lot. I think I said that or I might have Alzeimers. I take medication for my memory loss, but I forgot where I put it.
3 Signs of getting old: 1) You start losing your memory, 2) I can't remember the other two.
Back to baseball; Tommy Bunke...Expand for more
r shaved his head on a "I will if you will", Tommy was the only MAN that kept his word. Strople (?) didn't have the huevos to honor his bet. Frank LaRoche - pitcher- had all of the hot chicks.
Roger _____ Outfield, was funny when he was drunk at my first party. I didn't allow alcohol of course. Not me. So many pretty girls, but can't remember all their names. Sorry ladies.
Friends from the school court ... Terry Martinez (?) cute Latino girl, Kathy Krantz, Did I mention Dawn Johnson? She had a nice yellow '55 or '56 Chev; but it wasn't the car I was interested in. I was looking long-term; she was thinking "go away".Through her, I met Rick Duncan, her sister's boyfriend, was a punter for the Philadelphia Eagles, Awesome Person ... upbeat ALWAYS, funny, positive. I think of all of you very, very much. Norma was/is awesome. I miss you Norma. One practice we had, it was raining, and I turned around, and the whole rest of the team was sitting in the dugout, getting out of the rain. WHAT?? REALLY??
