Bart's Story
Life
I attended Appalachian State Teachers College and Old Dominion College, but didn't complete my degree in Music Ed. I enlisted in the U.S.A.F. and was stationed in Kansas City, MO (Richards-Gebaur AFB) and Panama City, FL (Tyndall AFB). During my enlistment I met and
married a girl from K.C. and we moved back to K.C.
after my discharge. I went to work for a music
company (Jenkins Music Company) during the day and played in bands at night and on weekends. We had 2 children: a boy (Michael) and a girl (Jennifer).
My wife, Mary, developed colon cancer and died in 1977. I married a cellist and orchestra teacher a year later
and we moved back to Fairfax County in 1979. She
was the orchestra director at Edison HS for 3
years. I went to work for Jordan-Kitt's Music for 8 years
and then got into the printing business, doing graphic design and sales.
In 1989, I joined the staff of VIP Systems, Inc. as a
graphic designer/production supervisor. In July of 2001, I was offered a job with Lettercomm Type, Inc.and joined their staff.

and are
going to be grandparents for the first time, in May, when Michael and his wife, Diana, are due. Isabelle Marie Cooley was born May 16 and is absolutely beautiful! In 2005, our second granddaughter, Jordan, was born and Michael and Diana gave birth to our grandson, Nathan, this year (2008).
Cheryl will retire from the Fairfax County Public Schools after this year and become a Lady of Leisure! I have no plans to retire any time soon - I don't know what I would do with that much free time!
Our daughter, Jennifer, married Jasan Corey Dahlgren and they have provided us with a granddog, Dante, a Golden Retriever.
I thoroughly enjoyed working on the Reunion Committee for the 40th Reunion of the classes 1964-1966 several years ago, because it allowed me the opportunity to re-connect with so many good friends from my years at Edison HS! I appreciate Classmates.com for also allowing me to renew some old friendships. I enjoy finding out where some of you have traveled and what you have been doing over these past years. Every new connection brings a smile to my face and my heart.
