More of a story:
There was a man in a town that was flooding and everyone was told to evacuate. The man decided to stay. The last car leaving town stopped and offered the man a ride to higher ground, but he said "No. I have faith. ...Expand for more
God will save me."
So the flood waters rose, and he was trapped on the second story of his house when someone came by in a boat and offered to row him to higher ground. But, again, he said "No. I have faith. God will save me."
Finally, the flood waters had risen to the top of the man's house, and he was trapped on the roof. A helicopter came by and said that they could lift him to higher ground. But the man said "No. I have faith. God will save me."
The man drowned.
When he got to heaven, he asked why God had not saved him. God looked at him and said, " I sent you a car, a boat and a helicopter!"
Sometimes we're so intent on "looking for a sign" about what we should do that we ignore the clear and obvious answer.".
