Becky's Story
I doubt many of my classmates would remember me, as I was unable to attend the first reunion because I was out of country, and because I was really not that popular. Although I did spend most of my elementary and secondary education in Shingle Springs and many of the students in my class attended school with me from the 1st grade until graduation in 1969. After graduation I went on to attend American River College at the Placerville Campus where I met and married my first husband. Unfortunately, after 7 years things did not work out and we divorced in 1977. I then met my current husband in 1978 and we were married in December of that year. I have two stepsons and a son and daughter of my own. My husband was an Army officer and we traveled together throughout the South and to Europe and back. He was a native of Montana, so when he retired, we moved our family there. We owned a nice home on 10+ acres with a few horses, cows, rabbits, dogs, cats, llamas and a mule. We were very happy there until my mother got ill and we decided to move closer to her. She still lived in Shingle Springs (Cameron Park)until she had to move to Vacaville. de of Reno, NV and when we went to visit her, we thought it would be a decent place for our children to finish school and still be close to my mom and Jerry's mom in Montana. So we moved to Fallon, NV and have lived here since 1997. My husband is currently retired after serving in the Army and a career in law enforcement in Montana and Nevada. I was in administration for a number of years until I decided to return to school and try teaching. But after spending many dollars, I decided to just get a license to substitute teach and that is what I am currently doing. Jerry and I are empty nesters now and have three grandchildren. We are planning on spending our remaining years traveling throughout the US specifically visiting Montana, Oklahoma and wherever my other two children plan to settle. We love to RV and usually spend our summer months in Montana and soon hope to spend our winter months in the southern part of the US (haven't decided exactly where yet). That's it in a nutshell. I don't know what pocessed me into looking on this web site, but really am curious about what happened to some of my classmates. Hope I hear from some of you and get to see you this September.
