Becky's Story
Connor was born August 19, 2000 weighing in at 7lb 4oz and 21 inches long. He's been my pride and joy from day one. Only 11 months after that I picked up everything in our life and moved us 350 miles away to a small borough south of Pittsburgh, PA. We loved it there! Due to medical reasons, after 10 years of calling Pittsburgh home, we came back home to Owosso. These past few years have been very rough for me...trying to maintain my typical, crazy lifestyle. I graduated in May 2010 with my BSBA in Marketing, which was exciting...but short lived. I ended up in the hospital in July & on permanent disability in August. Everyday I ask myself what I happened, or how I could've done things differently.

to or give Connor the things I wanted to give him is overwhelming. I was first diagnosed with ankylosing spondylitis (AS) in early 2010, and then with fibromyalgia in late 2010. The AS has now progressed, and I have growth on my spine and nerve involvement in both my upper & lower body. I take so many medications that I ashamed to say, I carry around an old lady pill case everyday lol. Fighting this has been and still is, an uphill battle. Once the doctors feel they have one symptom under control, something else happens...and so it's a never ending struggle.
Even still, my life and those in it is amazing! I still continue to push everyday, for a little bit of normalcy. I don't want to be viewed as an invalid, but be seen as a strong individual who still fights for the things that mean the most, and the people who mean the most.
