Becky Stanford:  

in the hospital for 4 weeks deathly sick and almost loosing the baby. After my little girl was born, I went back to Dekalb Tech where I went to LPN school and did well until I flunked clinicals. I then went to night school and got my certification in Nursing assistant. I went to work for Emory University Hospital from 1975 until 1977 when I left to give birth to my son. In 1979 Frank and I divorced and I started working full time at a Private Physical Therapy Practice as a PT Aide during the week, part-time PT aide on weekends at a nursing home and part-time certified nursing asst. 2 week nights at another nursing home just so I could support myself and children. I remarried in 1982 and went back to college for a couple of quarters and then started work with Dept. of Family and Children Services as a Caseworker, Senior. I worked there for 10 years and then after severe burnout, I went to teaching 4-H in the Butts County Schools for 3 years. My health started declining and I ended up having to go out on disability due to diabetes, neuropathy and other medical problems. I am now permanently disabled and miss working with 4-H but I do get to keep up with the kids through our newspaper. Workplace High school graduation: 1st Job-Clerk with Allstate Insurance 1973-1974 2nd Job-Certified Nursing Asst. at Emory University Hospital 1975-1977 3rd Job-Physical Therapy Aide with Riverdale Therapy Center 1979-1982 part time jobs: Physical therapy aide on weekends and CNA 2 times a week at local nursing homes. 4th Job-School Bus Driver for the Deaf 1982-1983 5th Job-WIC Clerk with WIC Program in Newton and Rockdale Counties 1983-1984 6th Job-Tax Clerk with GA State Tax Revenue Center 1984-1985 7th Job-Caseworker, Senior with Henry County Dept. of Family and Children Services 1985-1993 Rockdale Co. DFCS 1993-1995 8th Job-Customer Service with Fashion Pillows 1996-1997 Company closed down 9th Job-Butts County Extension Service 4-H program 1998-2001
