Becky Birch:  

I joined IBM in Ft. Worth, TX upon my graduation from UT El Paso in 1975 with a BBA in Management. I moved to San Francisco two years later and lived in the Bay Area for 5 years before moving to Seattle in 1982. I married Don Birch in 1985 and we had two children. I now live in Bothell, WA, a suburb of Seattle. I was very involved in PTA while my children were in school . . . over 14 years. I held virtually every elected role except Treasurer during this time and was pleased to serve as the Canyon Park JH PTA president for two years and served in various roles at the Northshore PTSA Council level to include Co-President (2 years), Vice-President (2 years) and Legislative Advocate (2 years). I also chaired the Honor Unit award committee for the State of WA PTA. During this time, I earned the State of WA GOLD Leadership award, Outstanding Service Award, Outstanding Advocate Award, multiple Golden Acorn awards, and multiple Golden Apple awards. I held various positions within IBM to include 13+ years in technical and sales support management and over 25 years in business process re-engineering and consulting, Siebel deployment, and COSMOS business analytics. I hit my 35th anniversary with IBM in June 2010 and retired in April 2011 after a nearly 36 year career and many journeys around the US and South America during this time. I'm keeping busy in retirement with Trivia Nights, travel, three Book Cubs, managing our rentals, taking various classes, getting to movies on their release dates, participating in events at the Pacific Science Center, Seattle Art Museum, and the Museum of History and Industry, delving into the genealogy of the Ramos/Velasquez/Pennacchi/Birch families as well as serving on various boards.
