Bel's Story

Life I was one of only two married students at Bryan Adams in 1971. Since I got started so young, I'm on my fourth hubby. He is an environmental scientist named David, and we live in Tampa Bay. My son, Mark, II, is an English high school teacher in West Texas. He is married to a Junior High School art teacher named Robbyne. My daughter, Mandy, is an R.N. for a hospital in Bolivar, MO. She is married to Brent who is currently seeking employment with a university as the technical person for events and also, serves as a volunteer fire fighter. I have no grandchildren because I reminded my yung-uns all of their childhood that once they had a child--they would always be a parent. That was my goal for my kids--to be happy and enjoy life without jumping into the "parent" role. I'm so proud of them for being so mature; however, I hope I life long enough to meet my grandchildren! I've had many career changes and am looking to change again in the near future. I think I may want to become a pilot. OR I am considering writing a book about my experiences in the racing world during the 1970s. My first control freak hubby (Yes, I've had two control freak hubbies--I guess it does take a concrete wall 2 fall on me b4 I awake), Mark, started racing with my sister's, Tina's hubby, Randy, at the Devil's Bowl in Mesquite in 1970. NASCAR is such a big sport now, it might sell. U know that we R getting old b/c all of our favorite songs from our youth R being used in television commercials! It's so distressing 2 hear one of my favorite love songs play...Expand for more
ing 2 kids eating macaroni and cheese! I'm probably the only person alive who doesn't care 2 watch reality TV. I think most people R like God--voyeuristic--wanting 2 B entertained by watching other people. I still only play Pacman and Tetris computer games. The older I get, the more mellow I get. My first grade locker buddy was Susan Anderson. My first grade teacher was Miss Holloman at George W. Truett Elementary. She was the sweetest person ever. My father passed over on January 19, 2007. My older brother, Danny, my sister, Tina, my other sister, Char, my younger brother, Paul, still live in Dallas. My brother, Cliff, lives in Metarie, LA (a suburb of New Orleans). Well, I hope 2 hear from some of U who might remember any of my family, or just want 2 chat about old times, or anything else. Take care and God Bless Us Every One!!! Bel :) Funniest joke I ever heard: I THINK YOU'RE THE FATHER OF ONE OF MY KIDS... A guy goes to the supermarket and notices an attractive woman waving at him. She says hello. He's rather taken aback because he can't place from whence he knows her; so, he says, "Do you know me?" To which she replies, "I think you're the father of one of my kids." Now, his mind travels back to the only time he has ever been unfaithful to his wife and says, "My God, are you the stripper from my bachelor party to whom I made love on the pool table with all my buddies watching while your partner whipped me with a pool cue?" She looks into his eyes and says calmly, "No, I'm your son's teacher."
