Belinda's Story
After attending Antioch College I left for New York & adventures. Married, had two kids, came back to Ohio for a while. My family and I then moved to Berkeley California and I attended UC Berkeley, getting a degree in journalism. I divorced, pursued a career as a writer and editor at various newspapers in the Bay Area for 20 years. Raised my kids as a single mom, daughter is a veterinarian and son is an artist. No grandkids, darn it! I left newspapering to edit a theatre magazine in SF; became an arts marketing consultant...worked for the California Arts council to develop awareness and advocacy for the arts. Became a playwright. Wrote an award winning play about Julia Morgan, California's first woman architect who built Hears Castle on the Centrl California coast for newspaper tyco...Expand for more
on William Randolph Hearst. Now I write and consult with arts organizations. Working on a 2nd play, writing a film scaript. Still live in and love Berkeley.
Would like to hear from old friends and any Shiloh School classmates. Some of us went through kindergarten thru 12th grade together. I can still remember all our teachers and the layout of each classroom. Remember Miss Joseph taking nips from the Listerin bottle she kept in the top drawer of her file cabinet? Remember the male teacher that abruptly left us in 6th grade to be replaced by Miss Jenkins, whom I recall as a fliberty gibbet unable to control our unruly class. Remember being called out with all the girls who were wearing lipstick, told we looked like cows in a strawberry patch and made to tissue it off? Fun memories...
