Benjamin's Story
Life
Let's see how much I can ramble about me. I'm married to a wonderful wife, Krista with 3 children. We have a son (mine), a daughter (hers) and another daughter (ours). I'm very active and involved with my children's lives. My son plays high-school football, my oldest daugher plays high-school volleyball, and the youngest is getting ready to play recreational volleyball. I enjoy playing ice hockey, and have played some sort of hockey for over 22 years! Unless I tick my wife off, which I have a nack of doing, she enjoys watching me play ice hockey. In fact, my team has given her a jersey with "Team Mom" as the name on the back. I also officiate football. As I get older, and fatter, I've got to find other ways to get some exercise. That's my current life at the moment. Those are the basic details.
Now, my history. I was born in Reading, Pennsylvania. My family moved to Winter Springs, Florida when I was two, then to Houston when I was three. Barring a two-year stint in a private high school, and another two-year stint in college, I've been in Houston my entire life. I was fortunate enough to attend the Marine Military Academy for two of my three high school years. While there, I was not only able to skip 11th grade and graduate early, but I was able to obtain my private pilot's license a little after I turned 17. I received a 4-Year Air Force ROTC scholarhip and decided to attend Embry-Riddle Aerona...Expand for more
utical University in Daytona Beach, Florida. After a speed skating accident which injured my left knee, I was released from the Air Force with an Honorable Discharge, thus ending my plans to serve my country. I moved back to Houston and enrolled in the University of Houston. Three and a half years later, I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, and a Minor in Mathematics. Two months after graduating (and four months after I had a real programming job), I moved to the northwest Houston area, where I've resided ever since.
I'm a big supporter of my cousin's (Willie Trimmer) DJ Crew, 12InchPimps. I have a love and passion for dance music, be it Disco, 80's, House, or Rave. I used to DJ, albeit at a skating rink, for about 5 years. I absolutly love the beat and the vibe. Whenever I get up to Dallas, I go spend time with him. He and his crew are awesome. There have been times that I've been in Dallas (and didn't have to work the next day) and he let me spin a few.
Future plans? I would love to retire in Texas Hill Country, somewhere in the Madisonville area. Although I know nothing about being a rancher, I want to purchase 50-60 acres and build a home to my own design. I want to put some automatic lawn mowers (ie. cattle) on the property that will not only give me something to do, but act as a food source. ;-) To be honest though, my wife does not share those same ambitions. :-D
