Bernadette's Story
I went to Grand Island School of Business and graduated in 1965.
I met and married my husband Roger in 1965 and we were married in October. We had a son in 1966 and a daughter in 1968. I worked at a car dealership and an appliance/tire store in York.
We moved to Pueblo Colorado in 1973. I worked for a furniture store for six months until we started building our home, then went to work for the Colorado Mental Health Institute where I was employed in different areas of the hospital for 26 1/2 years when I retired. I...Expand for more
continued to work a part time job in a dry cleaning business as a counter person for another six years. I quit that when I developed glaucoma and had to quit.
We moved to Kansas in 2009 to be near our daughter and grand daughters. I love being near the gk and stay active in my church especially the Lutheran Women's Missionary League (LWML). We like to ride bikes and travel. We still have realtives in York and Nebraska and we visit them quite often.
I like hiking, bike riding, reading, walking, and shopping.
