Bernard's Story
Hi all ,
My parents rented a house in the Terrebonne area for a short time. (It may have been for only a few months,)
Both my parents have since passed away, so I have no more info.
I attended Lewis King for a least part of grade 2. I know this only because I'm in the grade 2 class picture of 1965.
The board in front of the students says:
LEWIS KING SCHOOL
GR 2 B
HB 2513
1965
I count exactly twenty kids, thirteen are boys. A stern looking female teacher with cat's eyes glasses stands at the left side. I don't recall her name. I have no memories of the kids in my class or the ...Expand for more
school itself.
Googling Lewis King shows a an older school at 1728 Thacker road, Mascouche. Can any one confirm that this school would have been the open in 1965? The google street view shows an area that is nicely treed. It does not trigger any memories, though.
I don't even remember exactly where in Terrebonne I lived, though I recall it was a short walk to the Mille Isles river. This was for a six year old boy quite an adventure. I seem remember prying clams out of the sand with stick!
If you would like a copy of the class picture, I would happy to scan and email it to you.
