Bernice's Story
Life
I have been married to the same wonderful man, Kenneth, for several years, and I have a beautiful 12 year-old daughter, Kierra, who happens to been an Honor Student. I have been working for the Department of Finance and Administration for 11 years, and I sincerely enjoy it. I graduated from Delta State University and spent time in the Army. My greatest joy in the world is spending time with my husband and daughter because they are truly the joys of my life.
College
I attended Grambling State University in Grambling, Louisina straight out of high school, but actually graduated from Delta State University in Cleveland, Mississippi in the summer of 1990. I truly enjoyed my college years, and can honestly say that my college experience was enjoyable to the highest degree. I studied, and partied, and partied, and partied. school for so long, it is hard to get back into the swing of things, but I will survive.
Workplace
I am curently employed with the Department of Finance and Administration as a Regional Monitor. My job is very intensive and very detailed and I am literally responsible for the lives and care of many people. It is my job to ensure that people receive the maximum amount of assistance available to them so that they can have the best life possible.
Military
I spent 3 years in the US Army. My MOS or job was in Personnel Management. I was responsible for reasigning recruiters to different regions of the world. My unit was Headquarters USA Recruiting Command in Fort Sheridian, Illinois and Fort Knox Kentucky. I finished basic training at Fort Leonardwood, Missouri and completed my Advanced Individual Training (AIT) at Fort Bend, Indiana. I joined the Army after I moved from California, but I moved to California after graduating from college.
