Life In 1960 my parents dragged me, kicking and screaming, to California, away from my relatives, friends and home, to a new life. That first winter had me loving Ca. and it's t-shirt weather. In 1963 I was offered a part time, after school and weekend, job at teh Stuft Shirt Restaurant in Upland, Ca. Unknowing the meaning of "work", I decided to try it. I spent 5 years as a buss boy, dishwasher, banquet waiter, painter and relief janitor there. I meet and worked with some great people. 1966 Bonita Grad. I spent two and a half semesters at Mt. Sac before being drafted into Uncle Sams Army. Fort Ord, Ca. became my new home for about four months then off to Ft. Gordon, Ga. for Radio Teletype School. Three months there then home for 15 days leave before Vietnam where I served in the 101st. Ariborne Division, 501st. Signal Bn. I came home and was hired by GTE where I spent the next 28 years before retireing as an instrument shopman, cable splicer, engineering fielder, then outside plant engineer.
