Beth's Story

I was due to graduate with the class of 79, but I left Del Norte in january 1978. I got married and moved all over the country with him for 30 years, while he had served and retired from the Air Force in 1995. I have 2 sons ages 25 and 27. I have worked for the government for almost 25 years. Also volunteered on the base for a short time after I moved to California. When asked what "what do I get paid to do?" I want to tell honestly I "serve people" but also "serve my country" because I work closely with the military. BUT I do not feel that I should check that box, because that is to me a very special option in a persons life and I don't take that lightly. I have raised my kids that way too. To believe in what you feel is right and how you would like to be treated. Help when you can, and be true to yourself. 1.What about you would surprise everyone at my high school reunion....would be that I got married in my Junior year and still married to him. 2.Which teacher would you love to see again and why would be the ROTC instructors....Col Stone and Sgt Eyester (sorry about the spelling). 3. What's the wildest thing you ever did in school...I wasn't really wild..you can ask any of my friends......well there was 2 things that I recall and they really weren't that wild. One was that I ditched school one time and came back on campus to early and got caught. Got grounded for the rest of the semester (7 weeks) and the other was I got a ride home from one of the football games with one of the seniors that was a friend (and if he reads this he will know who he is) and got stuck in the snow on tramway road late at night and got a ride home and my dad got a tow truck to get it out. Boy was I in trouble for that one too. 4. What happened to my first crush....I really don't know...I have searched f...Expand for more
or him and he must of fallen off this earth....and my second did too...boy did I pick them or what. They were both trouble makers, but my third....I ended up hurting and really feel bad about that one. He didn't deserve what I did to him. He was really nice and special. He always made me feel number 1. Who ever hooked up with him, i'm sure got a winner. 5. How do I hope old friends remember me...as silly and quiet as I use to be. I use to be a happy flirt, but not a dangerous flirt. They always told me it might get me into trouble. I am still a flirt today, no matter what it could do me hahaha. I was more of the shy one of the bunch,THEY were the wild ones REALLY!!!!!!! 6.To be truly happy, I would be where, doing what, with whom....I would love to be back in Albuquerque, working for the same government agency, and being close to my family. I just lost my mom in January 2008 and miss the closeness of family. My 2 sons, their dad and my job are the only things that are here. None of the other family is nearby to call and go visit. 7. Life doesn't always turn out the way you expect. What's been my biggest surprise...That I turned out like I did and that my sons grew up so fast and into fine men, but think that I didn't feel I taught them everything that I should have and even they are responsible to a point, I know that they can survive but just get by. 8. You get one do-over. What would I do differently....YOU WOULDN'T WANT TO KNOW....ONE THING....AND IT WOULD BE A NOVEL. HAHAHA 9.Whats the weirdest job I ever had......delivering phone books and discount books in california..get this.....in a 1978 pinto. 10. Where have I lived and why did I move....I have lived in Merced Ca., Rantoul Il., Omaha Ne., Phoenix Az., and Oklahoma City, OK. and all do to military moves with a military person.
