Beth Schafer:  

After grade school I attended St. Elizabeth's Academy and was a cheerleader for their sports teams. While in high school, I worked at the old Burger Chef on Spring and Gravois and was involved in a robbery...it was pretty scary! I worked at St. Louis University briefly and then in 1976 got a job at Valley Steel Products where I worked until they went bankrupt in 1991. A few of the guys that worked at Valley started up their own steel business, Crestwood Tubulars, Inc. and I have worked there ever since! I am in charge of the traffic department...I find the flatbed trucks to haul our steel pipe. It is a wild ride because truck drivers are something else....very spirited... and I have fun dealing with them! I am married - to the same man - 31 years in August 2011 and living happily ever after. My two grown sons are; Andrew (27) and Michael (24). Andrew is a policeman and he and his wife, Sarah, blessed us with a beautiful granddaughter, Ann Marie, on May 17th, 2011. We live in Imperial, MO and have a swimming pool where we spend most of our time. I love dogs and have 4 at present time. All 4 were either strays or give-aways. I still love sports and am a huge football and NASCAR fan. Of course, baseball was always in my heart and still is too.
