Beth's Story
Life
I graduated from CSU Long Beach with a BA in Education/Liberal Studies with a concentration in Psychology in 1991 and got my teaching credential the following year. During the next two years, I subbed in Downey and Long Beach. In 1994, I started teaching 4th grade in Lakewood. I have been teaching 4th grade for 15 years and love it. I have yet another awesome class.
This school year, I was switched from 4th to 2nd grade because of low enrollment in upper grades, and having low seniority; even though I have taught for many years, I was the one to change grades. Thankfully, my close friend at school teaches 2nd and has helped me a great deal. It was a very difficult transition as I was expertised in 4th. The parents were amazing! I expected the 2nd graders to know what 4th graders knew. Things are going well now. I now really enjoy the younger children, and they definitely adore you no matter what.
I am still very close friends with Robin Lee; she is my best friend. Sh...Expand for more
e is now divorced. I am also close to Anne Arvizu. She is married with 2 beautiful children; Grace, almost 5 and Kenny, 3. I am also close to Cindy Brach. I met her in college. She has a beautiful 6 year old named Ashley.
Recently, I spend lots of time with my niece and nephew in San Diego. My niece is 7, and my nephew is 5. They are very important to me, and being a teacher, I have been able to spend a lot of time with them. I spend most of my weekends there.
I bought my condo in Huntington Beach in 1999. I have since remodeled it, and I always see myself living here unless something in my life changes that.
I went to New York this past July to visit my brother and had a great time. The weather was horrible, but it was still a lot of fun.
I just got back from Italy with close friends to celebrate the big 4-0 and had a great time. I went to Rome, Florence, Venice, Monterosso in Cinque Terre, and Milan. My favorite was Venice; the men were absolutely gorgeous.
