Beth Peccarelli:  

After high school I went to school at Western in Macomb. I loved the social aspects of it more than the academics. I left WIU after my second quarter of Sophmore year. Once back in Ottawa, I worked at Sheridan Correctional Center and returned to school at Northern. I finally received a BS in Sociology in '84. I continued in graduate school but found that it was not going to get me where I thought I wanted to be. While attending NIU, I met my husband and we were married in '86. In '87, I quit working at the prison and went to Law School at NIU. I graduated Law School in '90, not before having my first son, Adric, during my last year. After passing the bar, I worked in Kane County doing legal research for the judges. In '91 I was hired by the Kane County Public Defender's Office as an assistant public defender.
