Beth's Story

Life I spent many years trying to escape the clutches of southern California yet I find my curiosity regarding friends and enemies nipping at my heels, so here I am positing to Classmates. Updated: May 25, 2005: When I first posted to this site I had only 1 son and now I have two beautiful boys -- 6 and 2. I have two dogs, a cat, a fish and a frog. I live on 3 acres of land with gorgeous views of the valley and Rock Mountain (that is covered in lush green trees). I have a home (3000sf), an SUV, I coach soccer, and a loving husband of 7 years. Updated: January 16, 2006: Martin Luther King, Jr. was not the first person to speak up or out for the rights of others, he was just the most recognized and pronounced. When most people speak out the way he did we are shunned for being too outspoken, but when it serves a great purpose we are seen as heros. Wouldn't it be wonderful if we all had the ability to speak our minds, with respect and dignity toward those around us, and not be an outcast? Alas, that is not my most recent information, and yes I do try to keep my bio updated from time to time. I am proud of my life, proud that I survived my previous life, and though today is not always daisy's and rainbows I continue to move forward. We have a new family member, Scooby Doo, as named by my eldest son who will turn 7 at the end of April. Scooby joined our family in May and will be a year old on February 23. My youngest baby, Eli, has just had his third operation since August of 2004. He is on his third set of tubes for his ears, has had his adnoids removed and recoterized, and just had his tonsils removed. Eli will be 3 at the end of March. Living in Washington was one of the best moves I have made with my life. Though separated from my family, and not being with my Dad in his final days (he passed in August of 2005), I still would have made the same choice to move here. I have a great many friends, am involved in all aspects of my childrens school and daily lives/activities, and have a wide range of activities for myself. that time truly is slipping faster than I desire. As typical the history of my life brings joy and sorrow. Alas, I celebrate as much as possible, each day that I am granted to walk this planet. Sam, who will turn 8 in 31 days, is a challenging joy. Who ever said that parenting would come easy or be all joy was lieing. Plain and simple. Yet, with each challenge I can say I would trade it for nothing else in the world. Sam is top of his class for spelling and reading. He was nominated by his classmates to be their Wagon Master (which means he is to help his teacher get each student to 3rd grade). Sam is also very popular with other students (who'd a thunk smart, good looking, and popular.) Sam is still participating in TaeKwonDo and is preparing for the state championships at the end of April. Students from CA, ID, NV, OR and WA will attend. Eli is now in his second year of preschool, and just turned 4 years old. He is going to give Michael J. Fox a run for his money! This kid can bring any audience to a stand still with his humor. He is a learning magnet too. Both boys enjoy soccer, and I enjoy coaching! One of my newest loves, and only discovered after giving birth to Eli. On to other news... seems that we are moving this summer. The last time we moved was fairly simple -- only 3 miles from our old home. This move will take me to a new part of the world...Illinois. Brrrr! Just hope we get our current house sold in this failing market. Life is moving forward with not much more to say, but there may be a question I can answer so drop me a line. October 5, 2008: Life is amazing. Only a brief moment to update as I am holding my 9 month old who is blissfully sleeping in my arms. A year under the belt in Illinois, a new group of wonderful friends, and three beautiful boys... My life is full and I am well rewarded. One blessing from the terrible state of my youth, I can provide my dear children better guidance, understanding and love from the villains that walk school hallways (aka bullies). When you are unable to change the past, find a way to use it as an educational tool.
