Bettie's Story
Life
I am a licensed Wildlife Rehabilitator for the state of Maryland. I take in injured and orphaned wildlife and nurse them back to health or care for them until they are old enough to be on their own. It is very rewarding. I get to hold in my hands animals I have only seen pictures of. There is nothing better than taking in a critter on death's door, rehabilitating him or her, and finally releasing him or her back into the wild. er when things are slow. We are required to accumulate 6 credits per year to keep our license.
We moved this year (2005) from Harford County and a very hectic life to the mountains of Western Maryland. We have 14.5 acres, so now I have room for my wildlife.
My Husband retired from the Postal Service and I retired from my job as an Accounts Manager for a precision optical company. Four months after our move, I had a job offer I couldn't refuse. I work via the internet for a mechanical engineer, doing all of his financials. It's great, I work from my house during the hours I choose.
