Career Day at DHS was always a thrill. We usually got to hear stewardesses tell of their glamorous life and travels. So for the least glamorous girl in the '63 class, what would I aspire to but to be one of those. After graduating from Peabody College in '67, I started flying for American Airlines. The glamour was there....yes it was....for about the 1st week:) I became hooked on traveling, thru my 27 min flights between NYC & Syracuse. After serving a full continental breakfast I would usually land in Syracuse...on my knees in the galley, holding the tray carrier doors closed. After about a year, I returned to Nashville, married Dave and moved to Philadelphia, where I worked for Stouffer Foods. I went from an Airline uniform, consisting of a mini-skirt & go-go boots to a white uniform and a hairnet and clunky shoes.
