Betty's Story
Life
I just got another dog - a stray. However, the vet discovered he has an ID chip, so we at least know his birthdate (Sept. 2008) and the first 4 months of his history. After that he was surrendered to our local animal control society and was found over a year later as a stray. The intervening time is a total mystery. However, he's crate trained, and loves his crate. We're getting along well and he's getting me out for a short walk in the morning before work and for a longer walk in the evening - besides playing fetch and tug-of-war in the yard. It is exciting to have another dog, and yet sometimes I wonder if I was crazy taking on this responsibility.
My Kids
Daughter, Kate, lives in Seattle, WA; has her own business (Inspiration4Success), married, no kids.
Son, Mike, also lives in Seattle, working in the computer industry. Not ...Expand for more

I can't believe my children are the ages they are; I just don't feel old enough to have mature off-spring.
Although they live far away, we talk every week (usually for about 2 hours!) and try to visit at least once a year.
My Job
After being semi-retired, I'm working again full-time for a small law firm. I'm really enjoying it.
Travel
Since I did a road trip to Seattle in 2004, it doesn't seem quite so far away. I spent a month in Alaska and the Yukon in 2003 with a friend, on our own, going were the spirit took us. Have been to the San Juan Islands in WA and to New Mexico on Elderhostels, and did a windjammer cruise in the summer 2007 off the coast of Maine.
2009 I went to Ireland! Also visited friends in Nova Scotia, and my kids in Seattle. I do love to travel and wish I had the time, along with the resources, to do more.
