Betty 's Story
Life
Married, mother of 2 adult daughters, 3 grandchildren. SS teacher, church secretary. Husband, James, attended Hooper City High in Birmingham. Retiree from Social Security Adm, 1994 after 23 years. Currently relocated back to B'ham. Enjoying life, family, friends and church.
School
I had to walk quite a distance to catch the school "special" but was one of the first to board the bus before it stopped at other stops. I always saved a seat beside me, so that this special guy would sit there....Expand for more
It took many weeks before he realized I was saving the seat for him. Needless to say, I had carried a huge crush on him since I first saw him. He was a senior, I was a junior. After he graduated, he joined the Air Force. He came back to visit the school during American Education Week, and came by my classroom. By this time, everyone in my class knew of my huge crush. I was so flustered, but was enjoyed the attention because he looked so handsome in his uniform, and everyone knew he came to see me.
