Betty's Story
Have stayed in the area all of my life. Have 4 children by my first marriage. Two girls then, 2 boys. Rangeing in age from 56-48. Two live around here, the other two, one in FL, the other, CA. Have 2 grandchildren, one girl, one boy from my oldest daughter. I remarried in 1999. A sweetheart from my young dating days. Calvin Bassler. His wife, Dianne Pedicord, died from Bone Cancer in 1997. They also, had 4 children. He has about 15-16 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren, all 7 from the same grandchild.
I have a Shih Tzu dog. He will be 2 years old in March. He is the lovey. He loves everybody. Loves to play. Don't know how I was lucky enough to get him, but am very grateful.
The dances at Beltsville Fire Hall on Saturday nights, You were such a good dancer, Elizabeth.
Hope people will remember me, as being kind and a good sport.
My first job was at Montgomery Ward, where I got paid $0.87 to ?. What I remember most about it is ,first job, scared to death..
I always wanted to be a A good mother when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a good possibility idea. As it turns out, they were right.

el apart of me died with him. I do know that there are others in my class, that have also lost a child. Life continues but, this is one thing you never get over.
I love to crochet. I also play at the keyboard. I took music lessons as a kid but,was never good at it. Very relaxing as well.
My inspiration in life comes from my church. I feel at home, now that I have gotten back to my church that my ancestors help to start so many years ago. I do Hand Bells and Choir, Just started the Hand Bells. Not good yet, but hope it will improve. The others, hope so too!
If I won $100 million, I'd give a Portion of it to My Church, then spend the rest on my husband and myself on touring and some nice cruise, a nice senior condo and invest the rest..
My current age is 75. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be old, old, old. I was so completely half right!.
In 10 years, I hope to be doing for myself. I'm going to get there maybe or, be 6 foot under..
My oldest friend's first name is Edwina. I grew up with her. We played mud pies, ran barefoot in rain puddles, dress ups, gathered lightening bugs in a jar. played "May I", all those things today no one knows what you are talking about.
