Beverley's Story
First off, it says on here that I am the class of 1970 at General Panet. I was there in '69 and '70, but I graduated from high school in 1973. I don't know how to change that on here. I went to three other high schools after leaving Petawawa.
Dad retired in Stayner, and I have been living in that area, specifically Collingwood ever since. Mom and Dad are both gone now, and I miss them terribly. I really lucked out when I got them as parents.
I have been married to Hugh Lamont since 1975. We have two terrific children, Ian, and Patti. Patti's boys, Canon and Porter are the absolute loves of my life, and I am really enjoying being a Grandmother.
I worked at the Collingwood Hospital for 25 years, mostly in nursing. After a couple of surgeries on my shoulder I was placed in the Pharmacy, stayed there for 5 years, and had the privilege of working with a great group of people.

money trying to find out what kind of job would suit me. After all the testing was done they said that ideally I should be a nurse (YA THINK???), and if not that, I should work in a pharmacy. That was what I told them I wanted to do in the first place! No wonder the government is broke!
I was retrained as a Pharmacy Technician, and did two years in one. I was the only granny in the class and graduated with honors. I decided at my age not to bother with the structured practical training to become a Registered Tech. Instead I took my retirement from the hospital and work part time in an independent pharmacy. I love the job and the people I work with. I didn't realize how much I missed the contact with the public until I started working there. I babysit my youngest grandson one day a week and I am really enjoying that too. He starts school in a year...I can't believe he is that old already. Heck! I can't believe how old I am either.
