Beverly's Story
Life
I graduated from Twin Peaks Annex and went to Roosevelt Jr. High School for 7th grade. I went to Herbert Hoover Jr. High for 8th and 9th grade, and then Polytechnic High School from 9/66 to 6/69. in 1974, I left S.F. and came to Decatur, Illinois and have been here every since. I am married and have one daughter, and two granddaughters. I worked for the City of Decatur, Illinois as a transcriber for the police department until April 2010. Due to budget problems, my postiion was eliminated, but thankfully I was able to transfer to the Public Works Department. Altogether I have been at the City 25 years this January 2011. I havent been back to S.F. since I was there in 2004 for my aunt's son's funeral. I used to come back to S.F. every year when my mother and aunt still lived there, but after I moved them back here with me, I had no reason to go back every year. I brought my mother and aunt to live with me in 2001, I still have my aunt, but my mother passed away in 2007. I have very few relatives that I know where they are back there now, but S.F. will always be home to me. It has changed a lot from when I lived there. It wasn't a commuting city then. way streets drive me up a wall. I would like to be notified of any reunions of any of the aforementioned schools for the years: Hoover 64-66, Roosevelt 1963-1965., Poly 1969.
I would love to hear from some of my old classmates from S.F.
School
My name in school was Beverly Grant, it is now Bramlett. I was on the majorettes at Poly throughout high school. I was also in the school choir throughout high school with Mr. Lang as my choir teacher. I was in the choir with people like Victor Willis who went on to be the lead singer in the Village People. Also Martha Wash was in the choir, she went professional too. I loved Poly and wish I could back and do those three years again.
College
I only went to City College for two semesters, and quit. I really didn't know what I wanted to. So I do not have many memories there. I have been attending college here in Decatur, Illinois, Richland Community College. You could say that I am a professional student because I have been going for years and still don't know what I want to be. Update: I'm close to a Liberal Arts degree if I want to pursue it.
This profile was messed up. I hope it makes more sense now that I have updated it.
