Eugene's Story
Moved to and started at El Segundo High in 1951 as a Junior. Finished my senior year the summer of 52, but had to come back in June 53 to receive my diploma. Worked that year in an air craft plant. I married Beverly Kanning June 25 1954.. We have 2 sons 3 grand kids, 4 great and 1 great great child. I am sure there is more on the way. I started my own business in 1960 at the age of 23 in my garage making ejection seat brackets for the Gemini maned rocket. I was bought out 2 years later and became project engineer for the Northrup F5 side winder wing tip launching rail made by ASCO machine products in El Segundo . 2 years later I became the plant manager. My wife and I bought a resort in Felton Cal. and moved there in 1971.. We sold the resort in 2005 to our son Dan. and in 2018 he sold t...Expand for more
he resort to his daughter our grand daughter Nicole who is doing a outstanding job hosting guest, and in addition host around 17 weddings every year. Beverly was into horses for many years, Around 9 years ago after many mishaps and broken bones she gave it up. Around 15 years ago she started teaching water color art, Beverly herself is an outstanding beautiful water color painter of flowers landscapes, and portraits. Since I was always interested in dance I decided to take up Ballroom dancing in a serious way around 9 years age.. Beverly informed me that in no way would I be going dancing alone and here we are in our mid eighties involved in competition ball room dancing. This June 25, 2019 we will be celebration our Blue Sapphire 65th anniversary dancing a solo waltz on the Queen Elizabeth.
