More about Beverly:"I celebrated my third year of retirement on October 7, 2011. This has been one of the toughest years of my life. I was diagnosed with breast cancer in May, had a lumpectomy in June and started chemo treatments in July. Radiation treatments will follow the final chemo on November 9. My prognosis is excellent. The tumor was removed and no lymph nodes were involved:-)
I was able to ride the AMBA (Alabama Magnificent Bike Advendture) in May and a couple days of GOBA right before my surgery. Time on the bike has been limited to rides of 5-12 miles but I'm still riding!! I'll be glad to finish radiation in early 2012 and start rebuilding my strength and stamina for the 2012 riding season.".
