2019,,,,78 like all of us. Played football and basketball at Bakersfield College. Football scholarship to Washington State University,,,starter. a cup of coffee with 49ers. Started teaching US History and coaching football and basketball at Sunset HS, Beaverton , Oregon Teacher of the Year in 68. Moved to California in 68 with Cheri.Head Coach for football and for basketball,,,thirty years went by fast,. Teaching US history and Coaching was what I wanted to do,,,very fortunate. Four kids,,,Coleen, Matt, Jessica and Susy, who was adopted out of Thailand in 73.....27 grandkids and great grandkids... Jessica has seven kids,,,oldest three play volleyball at UCLA,...Expand for more
Santa Clara and soon Oregon State 4th daughter may grow to 6/6,,only a sophmore in HS,,,,in the Olympic pipe line,You could say I am enjoying their success,,,Bleachers are hard to sit in. We have a cabin and treehouse,2018, in Ponderosa,,,and a home in Rancho Murieta,,,Life has been good to us,,,Bill Benton and Cheri UPDATE 2022,,,All four of Jessica and Jeff Lights daughters are playing college vollyball,,,UCLA, Santa Clara, Oregon State,,UC Davis,,,,,,Three boys, I hope , Cheri and I get to watch them play HS sports,,oldest boy is a freshman at Pleasant Grove hs,,,Elk Grove ,,oldest grandson is a frosh going out for football,,go figure,,,Bill Benton
