How many people write bio's on themselves? Let's see. When I was little, I lived on a farm by Preemption, Il.. Moved to the big city (Rock Island, IL. 10 miles up the road) yes it qualifies... you should see Preemption!), public schools til high school. then Alleman HS,(Catholic, I was a token protestant). undergrads, EIU SIU, MBA SIU. While at Eastern, I also successfully defended West Virginia from communist Aggression in the Marine Corps Platoon Leaders Class program. 25 years with Deere, lived in 5 places (little midwest towns, good experience. I like history, animals, wine, halloween, reading, running (did my first half marathon this year!) Do a bit of weight lifting. 2 kids, 1 wife. (or is it 2 wives, one kid... no. 2 kids one wife, now 1 dogs.) son graduated from NIU, and gainfully employed (thank God!) Daughter at MIZZOU (senior, hoping for Grad School) Currently live in Moline. Looking retirement from Deere in the face. What a change that will be!
That's it to date.
College
college bio??? I received an undergrad from Eastern Illinois University, a second undergrad, and a Graduate degree from Southern Illinois University. Eastern is a blur. I was on Scum corridor which historians will recognize as Thomas Hall, 3rd floor south wing, north side. We prided ourselves on being the lowest forms of human life. the high point of my scholastic a...Expand for more
cheivement was reached with Dr Cook, and History Methods. This was a course to teach you how to research a paper, that you didn't write. It was pretty pointless.... in the first session, Cook announced that there was no grade allocation for attendance, that the total grade was for the weekly papers (where we went through some aspect of researching the paper which we didn't write...) I arranged to have my homework picked up by one of my brothers and never set foot in the class. I would wait down the hall from his office for him to return from class, then as soon as he sat down in his chair, with the door closed, I would slide my paper under the door! You would hear his chair go back with a bang as he jumped forward to try and get to the door but I always made it around the corner before he got it opened. My floor dubbed me "the Secret Student!". My dorm brothers joined in by writing jokes about Dr Cook and signing them "the Secret Student!". I had a solid B in the class but he gave me a C... I think just to get me to show up and contest the grade; but I figured my rep was more important than my GPA... so I didn't... My first apt. down at SIU was for a summer semester. I rented my apt. for the whole summer for $135! what a deal! the first weekend my girlfriend came down, there was a storm and my apt. filled with water... now I understand why it was so cheap!
