Bill's Story
Life
Biographical details can be read below. General thoughts about my life, hmm... I suppose I strive to understand the proper understanding of my Christian faith in relation to a pluralistic society and the proper role of the political expression of faith. Tangentially, I also have a growing interest in intellectual property -- the ethical balance between private ownership and societal needs. In the future, I hope to pursue other advanced degrees and eventually teach or maybe administer in academia.
School
I attended Glenwood, Armuchee Middle, and Armuchee High Schools. Wasn't very outgoing or active until the last few years of high school when I did academic decathlon, mock trial, FBLA, National Honor Society, and student council.
College
I graduated from Berry College in May, 2001, with a double major in political science and history and with a minor in internatio...Expand for more
nal business. I then completed a year-long legal assistant course through Berry's continuing education department. I graduated with a masters degree in Information (Library) Science from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville in May, 2005.
Workplace
Well, I started out helping children with their homework and running a computer lab and library at the local Boys & Girls Club. I also tutored American History, served as treasurer for the student government association, and worked in the college's library. After graduation, I worked full-time for two years in the City of Rome's HR Department and also part-time for Berry's library. I finished my graduate assistantship with the Univ of Tenn Libraries in July and worked again at the Berry library while job hunting. I start work as the Interlibrary Loan Librarian for East Carolina University in Greenville, NC, on Nov 1, 2005.
