Bill's Story
Life
When I was young I lived in both the U.S. and Germany. My mother is a German citizen so we moved back and forth for awhile until we settled in Oregon in 1977. In 1985 I graduated from high school and went into the National Guard and college. After college I worked in Southern California for 9 years. Eventually, I decided to return to Oregon and live near family and go to graduate school. During grad. school I got a divorce. I finished more school and went to work in law enforcement.
School
In high school I was involved in some student government stuff and I really liked my philosophy and psychology classes. I was involved in sports in middle school but not in high school. I worked in the evenings and spend a lot of time riding bikes, going four wheeling, doing church stuff with the youth ...Expand for more
group and just hanging out with my friends. I also took scuba classes and got certified for open water diving.
College
The thing I liked most about college was making new friends. I completed a B.S. in Counseling Psychology and a M.A. in Counseling.
Workplace
I'm a probation and parole officer.
I've also worked as a therapist helping victims of domestic violence and leading groups for DV batterers. I taught college in the evenings for about 4 years.
Military
I joined the National Guard while in High School and left for Boot camp before graduation. After boot camp I went to college in MO and competed advanced training the following summer. I changed units about 4 times and completed various training camps in GA, OK, UT and CA. In my last unit I was an analyst with the intelligence section.
