Bill's Story
Just a short update...
...still married, still primarily an at-home parent, enjoying arthritis and the general aging process (however, I am actively looking for the Fountain of Middle Age); daughter Anna is now 12 and likes so many things. She is a very good softball player (B-L, T-R, 3rd and 1st bases). She is an excellent hitter, which I think comes from the other Lapadat-side of the family (John, Sr Wash. HS. and John, MV-78) She's a good student, too. My wife Mary Jo is a director at Nestles medical nutrition (formerly Novartis) and doing a lot of traveling. She is terrific and I'm really proud of her. I'm in the process of bringing my teaching license up to date (I was licensed in Secondary English, largely because of the impact that teacher Peggy Mann Rinehart had on me as a student at MV . Thank you, PMR) and possibly getting back into the teaching biz.

sues. I feel that the country is at a tipping point: we are taking resources away from the poor, the young, and the old and giving them to the very, very rich. And it's been wrapped in the flag and sold in a way that people support a party and programs that are directly against their best interests. We are heading toward another Gilded Age where 1% of the people will have 99% of the wealth.
Perhaps my favorite activity of all is watching Anna play softball and soccer. I am still reading an awful lot, still watching foreign, indie, and art house movies, and I am still trying to learn new things. As of this writing, the topics are: prose poetry, the history of South Africa, the Salem Witch Hysteria, and Russian history. Finally, I'm starting to play chess again, which is a very good sport for arthritics!
Exciting, huh?
Peace, love, success, and laughter
to all who stopped by to visit.
Thank you.
