Bill's Story

Life I left Connecticut to join the Peace Corps and was sent to Afghanistan in 1969. I met my wife there who was visiting her parents who worked for the U.S. State Dept. Melene and I were married in Switzerland in early December 1970. We had Talli in Oct. 1971, Mike in 1974, Eryn in 1977, Drew in 1985 and Alex in 1988. We have lived in the Far East for the past 23 years. I am the assistant principal at Stearley Heights Elementary School on Kadena Air Force Base in Okinawa, Japan. Melene also teaches and we enjoy our four grandkids Brian, Zackary, Abby, and Megan. We spend our summers in Wyoming, in between, traveling and sight seeing. We would love to hear from any of you. We are enjoying our life and look forward to retirement and returning...Expand for more
to the USA for good. We are still in Japan and should be for the next 5 years and then retire to Arizona and Wyoming. Four of our five children have left the nest and are doing well. Our youngest will graduate high school this June and will play soccer at Brigham Young University in Hawaii. Our oldest daughter is moving to Fresno this summer. Our oldest son is in Phoenix. Our middle daughter is here with us in Japan getting a Masters in guidance counseling and will be married this August. Middle son is also at BYU Hawaii and is a junior majoring in journalism. Melene and I are getting older but only physically. We enjoy life and especially our grankids. We also love our yearly vacations in Hawaii. Write us and let us know what you are doing.
