Life I left New Brunswick at 17, joining the military and was stationed over the years, in several locations in Canada, and spent 3 years in Europe. I have been married twice, have 4 grown children, many grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. After leaving the military, I worked for a newspaper, then Canada Post, retiring as a postmaster in a small community in Northern Alberta. I now live, with my second wife, on an acreage in the "Peace" country. Though officially retired, I still work part-time as a counsellor in a group-home in the area. School I left high school in Moncton, New Brunswick to join the military. While in the military I was in the communications field, training in radio and teletype and took several other related courses. While stationed in Edmonton in the 60's, I decided to increase my formal education and attended Alberta College part-time and also took correspondence courses. After obtaining the required level, I attended the University of Alberta (Education) full time for 2 years while working steady night shift. I was then transferred to Ottawa and, since I was not allowed a steady night-shift position, attended Carleton part-time.
