Billy Bob's Story
Life
Ivan William Robert "Billy Bob" Cox career spans a myriad of activity including child care administration, the located ministry, law enforcement and public administration. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Dallas Christian College, and a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology and Master of Criminal Justice degree with a social services concentration from the University of Central Texas. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Child Placing Agency Administrator and Licensed Child Care Administrator.
Active in community affairs, Billy Bob was a nationally honored State Officer of the Texas Jaycees and received a "Jake" award from the Texas Jaycees. He is listed in Who's Who In Religion, Outstanding Young Men of America and was listed in the first edition of Emerging Leaders In America. rd Public Leadership Institite for both the Adult and Youth Leadership Forums and served as a member of the Leadership Team for the Forum.
Billy Bob has facilitated the LEADERSHIP HUTTO program and is active in community events including the Chamber of Commerce, Ministerial Alliance and for several years announced home football games for the HIPPOs. He was married to the late Beverly K. Porter and they have two children, Amanda and Marcy.
In addition to his responsibilities as a Military and Family Life Counselor, Billy Bob consults with several foster care and child care agencies and is the minister of the San Gabriel Christian Church near Thorndale and does consulting to churches and non-profits in the areas of leadership, team building, board development, program development and fundraising. He is a past President of the Texas Alliance for Children, but the most important role he plays is Grampa.
