Billy's Story
Houston Madison,Class of 1978, afterward I attended Fayetteville St.-UNC in North Carolina, graduated with Bachelors in English & Communications and Radio-Television. I worked as a Sports Reporter and Play-by-Play at WFSS for the FSU Broncos.
I attended Syracuse University for a brief time and returned to Houston.
In 1983, I worked at KHTV Channel 39 and worked as a studio cameraman. I caught the tail end of Don Mahoney, Paul Bosch's Houston Wrestling and News Before the Hour with the kid anchors....what fun!, Mattress Mack was just starting his gimmick.
Later, I worked for KRIV Ch. 26 ...Expand for more
and did video work for Oilers, Astros and Rocket professional sports teams. Everything from Nolan Ryan and Daryl Kile's No-Hitters to Bagwell and Biggio's rookie season. I have been to many parts of the world on locations.
Black Entertainment Television News, Entertainment Tonight, ESPN, and a few motion pictures. I covered everything from Superbowls, Olympics, Oklahoma City, Hurricanes, Celebrity Interviews, Wars and Sporting Events.
I left Houston to work at KFDM, CBS Ch.6, then eventually left commercial Television for Baylor College of Medicine's TV Healthline with Dr. Karen Johnson.
