William ( Bill )'s Story
In 2024, as I reflect on the 60 years since my days at Penncrest, some memories feel as vivid as if they happened yesterday. I consider myself fortunate to cherish them. Having attended several reunions, I eagerly anticipate the next one. But for me, the good old days are now.
Following my graduation from Penncrest, I pursued studies at Drexel University Engineering for five years before finding my place at Westinghouse, in Tinicum Industrial Park. However, destiny had other plans, leading me to seize an opportunity that beckoned me to California, which I've called home since 1972.
Married for 14 years and blessed with two wonderful daughters, fate dealt a different hand with divorce. Nonetheless, I embraced the role of a single parent, raising my daughters from the tender ages of 4 and 9. It's remarkable ...Expand for more
to think that now I have daughters aged 45 and 50, along with four incredible grandchildren—truly a profound blessing in my life.
My career journey saw me transition from owning and selling a thriving Retail Music Business, fueled by my passion for music as one of the Penncrest Beatles bands and enthusiasts, to a fulfilling 44-year-plus tenure in Real Estate. Through the ups and downs, the subsequent chapters of my life have centered around family, friends, adventures, (yes, I still enjoy riding motorcycles and playing in bands), and the creation of new memories that I will hold dear, much like those from Sandy Bank, Rose Tree, Indian Lane, and Penncrest.
I eagerly anticipate reconnecting with many of you at the upcoming Penncrest gathering. I hope life has been good for all of you as well. Billy Powers
