Billy's Story
After military life I moved to southern Virginia for 2 years where life was quiet but not a lot of jobs, and not a lot of help for disabled veterans, it was truely a place where the old saying goes, it's who you know, not what you know. Why do employers want you to do jobs that you know you can't do because of your disability but the jobs I knew I could do, I was passed over for the jobs. I moved to Chicago and belive it or not I was able to find a job without a lot of run around. new.
My life in the military was not easy were I was able to go to college and get a degree after work, every time i enrolled in a college I had to drop the class because of my military duties.
I Salute all the states I visited and offered me jobs, reconizing that I"m a disabled veteran. I have enjoyed working here in Missouri where I received 4 Awards, 2 for employee of the month and 2 awards for going above and beyond and recognized by your supervisor for doing the right thing, these Awards are called The Dudley Award.I'm not currently working at the time due to my disabilities have gotten worse, but I intend to join the work force sometime soon , if there's a job out there.
